V: The Second Generation Update..
The London Film and Comic Con was held last weekend where Robert Englund gave us some exciting news.. Not only did he mention that John Carpenter was ‘ talking ‘ about having Englund, who is best known as Freddy Kruger, return to play his character in the Freddy Vs Jason Vs Michael movie ( Carpenter has been at New Line discussing the project according to Englund ), but also that a new re - imagining of his hit 1980’s TV series V may be in the works..
Englund did add however, that it was unlikely that he would be involved in the new project, and that a whole new bunch of new, younger actors would be brought on board for the new show.. This is an interesting statement as we’ve also heard that Kenneth Johnson was in talks with the original cast to come back and reprise their roles.. It’s an interesting little rumour, and ” Tomorrow’s Entertainment ” will bring you any news as it’s released.. Even if it is without Englund ( The man did say that he would love to return to the series, and said that he’d like to have seen the new show based around the original characters, twenty to thirty years on ).. Which is what it sounds like Johnson wants to do..
Now, in a new novel based on the sequel miniseries currently being developed for TV, it picks up the epic story 20 years after the original arrival of the alien Visitors.. Anyone coming to V for the first time will be immediately swept up into the Brave New World which The Visitors have created.. By bringing many benefits to humankind The Visitors have seduced the majority of earth’s people into believing they have our best interests at heart..
But the brave people of The Resistance know the horrifying truth and are struggling to save humanity before it’s too late..
Then, at their darkest hour, The Resistance discovers startling new Allies who have come to help.. Or have they?
Kenneth Johnson’s much - anticipated new novel will be released in hardcover by Tor Books on the 2nd October 2007..
You can pre - order the novel now at local bookstores worldwide or..
Update..
” Tomorrow’s Entertainment ” decided to go start to source about the rumors.. We just got a reply from Kenneth Johnson, the creator of the V series.. One of the main questions he answered for us was in regards to Robert Englund’s character, Willie.. When asked about the character, and with what Englund was reported to have said about his character not returning, Johnson’s reply was as follows:
I believe Robert was referring to V The Second Generation which we have been trying to get set up for production for some time.. His character, Willy, is included in that script and if that picture gets made, I’m hopeful that Robert will be available to play the role he created..
Johnson also said:
Things are churning with V, but nothing more I can talk about than is currently reported at www.kennethjohnson.us
So fingers crossed Warner Bros. go for the script and bring us the long awaited sequel to V with all our favourite characters reprising their roles, including Robert Englund..

can’t wait to see the resistance in action again. greetings from the netherlands to all V fans
Aloha Daniel.. Welcome to Tomorrow’s Entertainment.. I’m hanging for another mini series too.. Kenneth Johnson’s
much - anticipated new novel will be released in late November or early December 2007.. Tor Books has had some
internal problems.. As soon as the date is definite it will be posted here.. Though it’s not Kenny’s
fault, he apologizes for the annoying delay.. Last time I spoke with Kenny he was still in negotiations with Warner Bros, but the wheels are still turning, which is always a good thing..
Update..
Aloha all V fans.. Just to let you all know, I was emailed by Tor Books today and was notified that the public release won’t be until January 2008 due to the internal problems..
Hope to See V The Series on the Big Screen again, cant wait.
