Jackie Moon ( Ferrell ) is a 1970’s one - hit wonder soul crooner.. With his newfound wealth, he purchases the Tropics located in Flint, Michigan.. He installs himself as the coach and power forward to carry the Tropics to their dreams..

The film will be directed by Kent Alterman and star Will Ferrell, Andre 3000, Will Arnett, Woody Harrelson, Maura Tierney, David Koechner, and Nick Brambila.. Semi - Pro is scheduled for release in theaters from the 29th February 2008..
