Whilst Damon, Greengrass, even the studio said that The Bourne Ultimatum would be the last film of the series, Damon himself seems to have changed his mind during interviews this month for the release of Ocean’s Thirteen in Japan..

For the most part though, it’s sounded like Ultimatum wass the last we’ll see of Jason Bourne.. Back in May Matt Damon was quoted as saying..

” The Bourne thing I’m definitely done with..”

Now though, after the massive critical and financial success of Ultimatum, it sounds like he may be softening.. And too think Tomorrow’s Entertainment gave The Bourne Ultimatum a bonus .5 in our review as it was most likely the last of the series..

Damon spoke with Tomorrow’s Entertainment and despite previously mentioning that he is through playing Jason Bourne, recently said that he is open to another sequel of his Jason Bourne spy series..

” You know personally, the Bourne character means everything to me because the character has done so much for my career.. Bourne is definitely my favourite character I have played to date.. You know, it put me in the position where I have a lot more choices of kind of movies I want to make..”

” If Paul Greengrass, maybe 7, 8 even 10 years down the road, was interested in doing another one, and called me up saying ‘ I have a way to bring him ( Bourne ) back,’ well, yeah, then I would do it, too.. I don’t think either of us completely put the character to bed just yet..”

The actor has laughed off claims his training for the Bourne left him with a deadly weapon for a body.. The actor learned a number of combat skills for the films, including the Israeli martial art Krav Maga - but he insists his teaching only touched the surface.. Damon says..

“I learned just enough to avoid getting my ass kicked.. You can’t learn those things properly in the time I had..”

The first two films in the Bourne series, 2002’s The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy in 2004, earned more than $500 million dollars worldwide..

If the fourth movie gets made it would seem likely that the fourth book’s title The Bourne Legacy would also be employed..
