The Force is with Family Guy..

Fox’s animated hit Family Guy will kick off its sixth season this September with an hourlong episode that retells the Star Wars saga using Family Guy characters, called ” Blue Harvest..” If you’re a Star Wars fan, you know the reference..

Lucasfilm has blessed the event, which will have the Griffin family acting out all the key scenes and narrative from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.. Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is a major Star Wars fan ( As we have seen throughout Family Guy.. Here is a few of them..) and was personally involved in getting Lucasfilm on board..

To help promote the return of Family Guy and this special episode, Fox has sent out a extremely cool poster which you can see above..

After the Griffin’s lose power, Peter entertains the family with the greatest story ever told; the story of Star Wars! After Princess Leia ( Lois ) comes under siege by Darth Vader ( Stewie ) and his evil Storm Troopers, C - 3PO ( Quagmire ) and R2 - D2 ( Cleveland ) escape to find the only person who can help the Rebel Alliance.. On their quest thorough the desert planet of Tatooine, C - 3PO and R - 2D2 find extra help in Obi - Wan Kenobi ( Herbert ), Luke Skywalker ( Chris ), Han Solo ( Peter ) and Chewbacca ( Brian ) and head back to battle the Death Star in an epic intergalactic fight to the death..

I too, am a huge Star Wars fan, always have been ( Star Wars is exactly as old as I am ).. I’ve been looking out for tributes for it’s 30th anniversary when I came across this.. Have you ever wondered what it would look like if the opening to The Simpsons was changed to include Star Wars characters, and was set inside the Star Wars universe? Well, that’s exactly what I’ve posted below, a recreation of The Simpsons opening, with folks like a young Luke Skywalker ( Bart ), Darth Vader ( Homer ), Obi - Wan, C - 3P0, Han Solo, Chewbacca and R2D2 ( Marge and Maggie, although Ned Flanders makes a cameo as Solo and that Chewbacca looks very much like Barney ).. The video was created by a guy named Rich Cando, and if you’re a fan of either, it’s a pretty fun watch..
