Tomorrow’s Entertainment has the latest casting details from the highly anticipated adaptation of Dan Brown’s Angels and Demons.. This Angels and Demons feature film is the follow up to the smash worldwide blockbuster The Da Vinci Code starring Tom Hanks..

The book  has been published for over eight years and fans have been wondering which of the many characters would make it to the big screen..
The film starts shooting 4th June 2008 in Los Angeles and Rome and is currently casting..

A big piece of the Angels and Demons casting puzzle has just been filled.. Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer has been cast as Vittoria Vetra for Angels and Demons..

The actress, who portrayed Eric Bana’s wife in Munich and was most recently seen in Vantage Point, beat out several A - list names for the part, including Naomi Watts, who was rumored to be in talks for the role..

Zurer’s Vetra character was instrumental in Dan Brown’s pre - The Da Vinci Code novel that introduced us to Hanks’ Robert Langdon character.. After the death of Vetra’s father, she aides Langdon in his quest to uncover a terrorist plot involving the secret society, The Illuminati, against the Catholic Church..

Naomi Watts had originally been rumoured for the role of Vittoria Vetra, but Zurer gave better head.. Or, ahem, audition..

Ewan McGregor is in talks to square off against Tom Hanks.. McGregor will play Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca, also known as Janus, the late pope’s closest aide who initially helps Langdon in the investigation.. During a conclave ( Which can go for hours or days ), the camerlengo is a young impartial priest who serves as the ‘ defacto pope ‘ whilst the cardinals are locked in St. Peter’s Basilica to decide the next Pope..

Angels and Demons finds Vittoria and Langdon paired up on a journey to uncover the mystery behind her father’s murder and stop a terrorist plot.. Sony has yet to cast the roles of Maximilian Kohler ( Director of CERN ) and Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca ( Aide to the Pope )..

Angels and Demons was originally supposed to be underway already under the direction of Ron Howard but the writers’ strike threw a snag in thos plans.. Production is back on track after the writers strike postponed the film. . Now it is set to begin filming in June for a 15th May 2009 release date…
